Ayrshire Independent Living Network

This is the first draft of the structure for your new site, pulled together from the brief, the three discovery sessions, the independent user testing and your staff survey. The big change from the current site is that it now shows everything AILN does, not just SDS and Payroll, and it gives someone who is worried or new to social care one calm place to start. Most pages are built from a small set of reusable templates, so it stays quick to build and easy for your team to look after. Have a read, and use the feedback tool in the corner to tell us what you think. The names in square brackets are the ones we would most like your steer on.

How we got here, and where we would love your steer
Reflected from discovery and testing
  • Everything AILN does is now here. Dementia services, microenterprise, training, challenge and review support, peer and carer support and the money and benefits work all have a home.
  • Organised by service, not by audience. One clear page per service that works for individuals, families and professionals, so nothing is said three times.
  • One "Get help" journey. Individuals, families and professional referrals all start in the same place, for every service, not just SDS.
  • Payroll leads with the real question: help employing and paying a personal assistant, with the formal name underneath.
  • Plain English first. Sector words like SDS are explained before they are used.
  • Dementia is the first page we build, one service page with clear sections for the cafés and befriending. Volunteering sits under Work and opportunities.
  • Peer and carer support share one page with two clear paths.
Where we would love your steer
  • The names in [brackets]. Microenterprise, CHAP, and how far to lean on "SDS" versus plainer wording. Comment right on them.
  • Events: worth its own listing for cafés, drop-ins and micro days? Your survey asked for this.
  • Which current pages, guides and photos should carry over, and which are out of date.
